BEST, Board of European Students of Technology is a constantly growing non-profit and non-political organisation. Since 1989 we provide communication, co-operation and exchange possibilities for students all over Europe. A total of 83 Local BEST Groups (LBGs) in 30 countries are creating a growing, well organised, powerful, young and innovative student network.

BEST strives to help European students of technology to become more internationally minded, by reaching a better understanding of European cultures and developing capacities to work on an international basis. Therefore we create opportunities for the students to meet and learn from one another through our academic and non-academic courses and educational symposia. "Learning makes the master", but the final goal is a good working place, therefore we offer services like an international career centre to broaden the horizons for the choice on the job market

BEKNOWN8, 8 because it's the 8th generation of this amazing training that trains 20 technology students from all over Europe. 20 people who are motivated in their respectable positions as BESTies. People who are all social, open minded and interested in Public Relations.

This training happend in Brno, Czech Republic, which happens to be the biggest beer drinking country, the country where te contact lens wa invented, te country that shot its canons to create the grand canyon (at least as some believe), the inventors of the pills, the country with Prague as capital, which is one of the most touristic cities in central Europe.

The local BEST group in Brno were so brave to organize this event this year and I am convinced each and every one of the organizers got fulfilling of this event. We had 7 intensive days of training with trainings that should have been from 9h tot 20h, but sometimes running up until 23h. The amazing parties in the BEST spirit, with the reputated International Evening where students share their culture (this event is not about alcohol), Cantus (which originated in our region), Czech evening,...

Throughout the event "group hugs", "Lucy!!!", "Serious?", the newly started ICC (International Clapping Comity, which everybody should join) and the "Oh no no noooo" took over the sphere and spirit of this amazing event.

If one thing is to be said it's that BEST is reaching its goal! It is developing students while empowering diversity. And this in every sense of the word.

Last week I went to my very first BEST event ever! Concept: Belgian evening.

As a newbie I had to bring some typical Belgian food, the others would bring the drinks. At first I didn't know what to do, I was too busy to cook a nice dish and, more important, I'm a terrible cook :D

Easy solution: I got myself some supermarket-ready rice pudding, and hoped the others wouldn't find me too lazy know. And luckily they didn't. I came to Belgian evening almost all alone - my BEST friend was on a training abroad, so I didn't really know anyone. But everybody was so nice. It seemed like they'd all see me someplace before! And I just loved the typical Belgian mix of Dutch, French and English we spoke too!

We laughed, danced, drank, tasted,... We just made fun and I'm sure I will find a bunch of new friends in BEST. The people I met are really fantastic and I spent an amazing evening!
